The NCBBA season has begun and, if there is one team excited about its return, it is the two- time champion East Carolina Pirates.
Despite losing three senior players, the Pirates were able to retain seven players to help them make a push for the three-peat. They have made their case after two commanding victories over Elon University to start the season.
Game one against the Phoenix started slow but, ECU was able to withstand early issues and pull away with a 99-70 win. Game two was a page from last year’s playbook as the reigning champions demolished their opponents in a 92-67 rout.
The Pirates have come out swinging after a preseason poll had them tied with the Ohio State Buckeyes for first place. Feeling disrespected, East Carolina looks to push the competition and win their third straight championship.
